Leadership in Global Context
(30 credits)

  • The aim of this module is to enable students to become more self-reflective and develop their self-leadership skills, as well as understanding leadership and leading others within a Global and sustainable context. Students will engage with analytical tools to help identify their personal leadership strengths and also areas for development. In a fast paced 21st century organisation leaders need to be adept at navigating internal and external challenges, therefore a creative and entrepreneurial approach to leadership is essential to organisational agility and success. Through action learning sets and working with peers, students will develop skills in both personal leadership and leading others in an increasingly global context, these skills can then be used to develop the teams in their Organisations.


Business and Finance Strategy
(30 credits)

  1. As the global business environment becomes ever more complex and volatile, there is a need for organisations of all shapes and sizes to think and act more entrepreneurially, innovatively and creatively in order to be able to change and adapt. This interdisciplinary module will provide students with an understanding of the internal and external factors that impact strategic decision making. Students will be introduced to a variety of strategic theories, tools and concepts, in the context of both the external and internal environments and their impact on strategic challenges and choices. Students will also look at the associated strategic financial concepts and how they support and help to manage long term planning. Students will be exposed to a variety of academic and practical material that they can apply to their own organisations, or a live case organisation in order to appreciate the importance of developing and implementing innovative strategic plans for the success of the organisation, its key stakeholders and society more broadly.


Digital Transformation
(20 credits)

  1. Digital transformation is a change process that allows businesses and society to achieve goals such as improving accessibility and quality of digital services, increasing income generation, implementing innovative and generating a collaborative culture through the use of technology. The adoption of emerging technologies is important to businesses and can be fundamental to their survival. But digital transformation is not all about technology. Learners gain an in-depth understanding of the context of digital transformation, its challenges and possible future as well as its leadership and management. Learner gains the skills to develop a digital transformation strategy for an organisation, by engaging in critical assessment of cutting-edge research findings to inform your solution.

Project Management Philosophies and Tools
(20 credits)

  1. Contemporary project management is an evolving and extensive discipline that has grown substantially to meet the needs of modern project management demands. This module cultivates detailed and critical awareness of this domain and its expanding range of philosophies, tools and frameworks. The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the expanding discipline of project management and familiarise them with modern and contemporary project management modalities and the importance of effective project management to organisational functioning, enterprise growth and development.

Hacking the Human
(20 credits)

  1. This module will explore what is increasingly recognised as one of the most important areas and greatest threats of cyber security; that of the human being. Criminals are increasingly targeting people as an easy way to access a computer system; this is summed up in a famous quote by Bruce Schneier (a well-known writer on cyber security) - "Only amateurs attack machines; professionals target people". The module will explore what these types of cyber security threats are and what steps individuals and organisations can take to mitigate against them.

MBA Dissertation
(60 credits)

  1. This module requires individuals to integrate learning and development and synthesize knowledge and understanding of theory and practice through its application to organisational issues, which are demonstrably concerned with development within the organisation(s). Students work towards this through undertaking a major project related to a business issue of significance within a duration of 16 months.
