The BMS Student Society Handover and Induction Ceremony 2025/26 was held on 24 October 2025 at the Harvard Hall, BMS Colombo Graduate School, marking the official transition of leadership within the student body. This annual event serves as a platform to recognise the dedicated efforts of the outgoing committee and to welcome the new team of student leaders for the upcoming academic year.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Mushaf Maffaz, the outgoing President of the BMS Student Society, who reflected on the successful initiatives and projects carried out during the 2024/25 academic year. In his address, he expressed his gratitude to the members and faculty for their continuous support in enriching student life at BMS.
Following the speech, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the outgoing members in recognition of their commitment, teamwork, and contribution to student engagement activities. The event also celebrated the society’s accomplishments over the past year, including student-led events, sports tournaments, and CSR initiatives that promoted leadership, collaboration, and community involvement.
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal induction of the new Student Society members for 2025/26, who pledged to uphold the values and continue the legacy of excellence and inclusivity that define the BMS student community.
he event was graced by members of the senior management team, including Dr Nizam Razzaq (Director, BMS Campus), Mr Suraj Egodagama (Chief Recruitment Officer), and Mr Ahamed Irfan (Head of Brand Development and Graduate Support), who commended the society for its contribution to fostering a vibrant campus culture and encouraged the new members to build on the achievements of their predecessors.
The ceremony concluded with a networking session that provided an opportunity for outgoing and incoming members to exchange ideas and share insights on future plans.
