Induction for final-year degree programmes of the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences, held at the BMS Campus.
On 10 September 2025, a new cohort of final-year students was officially welcomed at the BMS Colombo Graduate School during an induction ceremony at Harvard Hall. The event marked the beginning of their final academic chapter within the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences.
The ceremony was held for students of the inaugural cohorts of BSc (Hons) Medical Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) Food Science and Nutrition (Clinical Nutrition), as well as the 15th cohort of BSc (Hons) Biotechnology and the 20th cohort of BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science.
Designed to ensure student success, the induction provided a comprehensive overview of the course structure and assessment methods. Students were also briefed on the extensive academic resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and student support services available on campus.
We were grateful to Dr. Katri Cornelissen, Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University, UK, for introducing the university and the degree programmes to the new students.
The event offered a valuable opportunity for students to meet their new faculty members and peers, fostering professional networks and friendships as they officially embarked on the final leg of their academic journey.
