The Department of Biomedical Science, Faculty of Life and Medical Science, BMS Campus organised a Research Writing Workshop on 26 July 2026 conducted by Dr(Mrs) G.D.M.N. Samaradiwakara from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It was an intensive session dedicated to refining students’ academic writing and scientific communication skills.
Designed to bridge the gap between initial ideas and publication-ready manuscripts, the programme offered hands-on guidance across core research disciplines, including:
- Advanced literature searching techniques and critical appraisal
- Manuscript preparation and structured drafting
- Academic referencing and practical strategies for plagiarism prevention
- Navigating the scholarly publishing process
The interactive session provided participants with actionable insights into producing high-quality research while reinforcing the importance of ethical practices and academic integrity in scholarly publishing.
