On 19 January 2026, the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences at BMS Campus hosted a formal induction ceremony to welcome the newest undergraduate cohorts for the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science and BSc (Hons) Biotechnology programmes. These prestigious degrees, awarded by Northumbria University, UK, represent a significant milestone for students embarking on careers as the next generation of scientific innovators.
The ceremony, held at Harvard Hall, opened with a welcoming address by Dr. Mathi Kandiah, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences. Dr. Kandiah provided students with a comprehensive overview of their curriculum while highlighting the diverse academic and global career pathways available within these rapidly evolving fields. To ensure a seamless transition into university life, students were also introduced to the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and specialised learning resources available at BMS Campus.
A key highlight of the event was a briefing by Dr. Vartual Sangal, Assistant Professor in Cellular and Molecular Sciences at Northumbria University. Dr. Sangal provided invaluable insights into the global standing of the partnership and the rigorous academic standards that define the Northumbria learning experience.
