A New Chapter in Inter-Campus Sports
On 16 January 2026, the BMS Student Society and their counterparts from APIIT gathered at Harvard Hall, BMS CGS, for the official inauguration of the “Founder’s Shield”. This inaugural cricket match marks a significant milestone in promoting athletic collaboration and a vibrant student life within the non-state higher education sector in Sri Lanka.
Event Launch and Match Schedule
During the press conference held at the launch, it was officially announced that the big match will be played at the Bloomfield Grounds ,Colombo 07 on Sunday, 25 January 2026. The event was attended by the Senior Management of both institutions, signaling strong institutional support for this new tradition.

Both teams expressed high levels of optimism and a competitive spirit, each aiming to outsmart their opposition to claim the inaugural trophy.
