Strengthening Global Academic Partnerships through Innovation and Collaboration

On 8 January 2026, the Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences at BMS Campus welcomed Dr S. Periyar Selvam, Professor and Head of the Department of Food Process Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (India), along with six PhD scholars. This visit served as a significant milestone in the International Student Exchange Programme, further strengthening the global academic ties between the two institutions.

Hands-on Research and Knowledge Sharing

From January 8th to 18th, the visiting scholars engaged in intensive practical sessions within the Biochemistry Laboratory at the BMS Faculty of Life and Medical Sciences. These sessions were complemented by structured meetings with both BMS faculty and the student community, facilitating a robust exchange of academic insights and technical expertise.

Industry and Sector Engagement

Beyond the laboratory, the exchange programme provided the SRM delegation with exposure to Sri Lanka’s industrial landscape. The group participated in several industry visits across various sectors, gaining practical perspectives on regional applications of food process engineering and life sciences.

This successful exchange underscores BMS Campus’s commitment to providing its students and faculty with international exposure and collaborative research opportunities.
