Teesside University Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Croney OBE Inaugurates New Facilities and Marks an Expanded TNE Partnership with BMS

On Monday, 24 November 2025, BMS Colombo Graduate School, operating as the authorised Teesside University Sri Lanka Centre, proudly hosted Professor Paul Croney OBE, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Teesside University, UK.

The visit served to celebrate the successful, innovative partnership between Teesside University and BMS in delivering high-quality Transnational Education (TNE) in Sri Lanka.

The day commenced with a significant ceremony as Professor Croney officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art lecture hall. This new facility was named in his honour in appreciation of his dedication and service to the advancement of Transnational Education.

Professor Croney’s visit underscored Teesside University’s commitment to its global partners and reinforced the institutional confidence in BMS as a centre of excellence for TNE delivery. The inauguration of the new lecture hall marks a significant investment in enhancing the physical resources available to postgraduate students, providing a world-class learning environment for the expanded Master’s portfolio. The event successfully celebrated past achievements while laying the groundwork for continued academic growth and excellence in Sri Lanka.
